If that sounds a little niche, then re-consider the evidence. It’s the perfect Lynch-ism: enigmatic, sincere, mysterious. “Not a day goes by where I don’t think about ‘The Wizard of Oz’” “He said: ‘I need to keep my eye on the doughnut.’” But the man behind cult classics Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man replied, “in classic Lynchian fashion”, to the request.
